Joe Gallipoli was born and raised in Northeast Ohio, the eldest of two sons of Ellen (Gentile) and Joe Gallipoli. He attended St. Edward High School in Lakewood, Ohio and is a graduate of Kent State University where he earned a bachelor degree in Marketing. He spent several years in medical device sales and considers acting as a creative extension of that form of interpersonal communication blended with a dose of improvisation. His first exposure to filmmaking was as a background artist in The Avengers (2012). This prompted Joe to pursue acting classes at The Cleveland Academy of Film Acting, The Houde School of Acting and Route 40 Acting. He began to hone his craft working on several student films and shorts, where his versatility as a character actor began to evolve. Earning the respect of various local and regional casting agencies initially garnered Joe featured background artist roles in Promised Land (2012) staring Matt Damon, as well as two feature films shot entirely in Northeast Ohio; Underdogs (2013) and The Kings of Summer (2013) that latter an Official Selection of the 2013 Sundance Film Festival. This in part, has led to several featured and supporting roles in films of varying genre. In early 2014 he will be lending his talents to the feature film Cleanland (2014) in the role of psychologist Dr. Josiah Samuels. In addition to his work in front of the camera, Joe was an Associate Producer on The Wind Is Watching (2014) and an Executive Producer for Made in Cleveland (2013). In his spare time, Joe volunteers with Superheroes to Kids in Ohio, a group dedicated to brightening the day of children and their families dealing with adversity.
