David Lee Hess was born and raised in Oklahoma. He attended the University of Texas and graduated with degrees in English, History, Philosophy, and Communication. At Texas State University in San Marcos, he received a Masters degree in Communication. After graduation, Hess recorded and released a dozen albums under various band names, traveling across the country to perform. His most recent albums include Supersonic Uke's "Seriously"; Paper Lawn's "Every Fool in Love"; and Baby Got Bacteria's "Boo." In 2012 Hess was cast in his first feature film. Since then he's worked in numerous feature, short films, and web series, as well as episodes of TNT's Dallas, Fullscreen's Magic Funhouse, and NBC's Revolution. In 2015, he moved to Los Angeles. In 2016 he wrote, directed, and acted in a short film, Fetish, which is currently screening in festivals.
