Hugh is an award-winning actor based out of Los Angeles, California. He was a company member at the Guthrie Theater for six years and played there in 15 productions. Most notably he starred alongside Mad Men's Vincent Kartheiser in Pride and Prejudice, and was cast by the renowned Roger Rees in The Primrose Path. Other productions included Othello, Tribes, Buzzer, Arsenic and Old Lace, Two Gentlemen of Verona, A View from the Bridge, The Government Inspector, A Midsummer Night's Dream, and Carson Kreitzer's Be Here Now, as well as five productions of A Christmas Carol. In 2011 Hugh joined the national tour of Romeo and Juliet co-produced by the Acting Company (NYC). Later that year he was cast in the title role in the Jungle Theater's production of Hamlet. After the close of Hamlet's critically acclaimed run, he traveled to Dubai to join an international company of actors in Anthony Tassa's new production of Macbeth Arabia. In 2015 he worked with two Tony award-winning directors: Dominique Serrand in the Moving Company's re-imagining of Love's Labour's Lost and with Wendy Goldberg in Philadelphia Theater Company's Mothers & Sons starring Emmy award-winner Michael Learned. Hugh is a Presidential Scholar of the Arts and performed at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC. In 2012 he won the IVEY Award for his performance in the Pillsbury House Theater's world premiere of Buzzer.
