Yann Gael is a French actor born in Cameroon. Yann started acting in the midst of the 2007 riots in Paris suburbs, which almost literally outburst in front of his door. He was classically trained at the very selective French National Academy of Drama (CNSAD). While he was still a student, prestigious former Comedie Francaise's director Marcel Bozonnet offered him his first first lead role. Yann received highly positive critics for his portrayal of the clown Chocolat on stage before Omar Sy embodied the clown in the film version. This eventually led to the documentary Chocolat Clown (2013). Yann is also known for being the only black lead on french TV with the young yet uncompromising cop Sebastien Le Tallec in the TV show Duel au soleil (2014) alongside well household name actor Gérard Darmon. 2016 might be an international turn for Yann as he takes on the part of Ben Wade, a Senegalese immigrant in Roma, who might be Italy's finest chance for the European Boxing Championships. - IMDb Mini Biography By: Simon Egenstein
